An ideal trek for first-timers, Dayara Bugyal is a paradise that will take your breath away. The route goes along dense forests, beautiful meadows and offers gorgeous views of the Himalayan range. Throughout the route, you can see majestic snow-peaks like John Lee, Draupadi ka Danda, Shrikhand Mahadev and the Gangotri peaks. This trek is unreal in its beauty, and exemplifies the fact that the journey is as important as the destination.

Route: Dehradun – Barsu – Dayara Bugyal – Raithal
Day 1: Dehradun – Barsu
We head to Barsu by car and head to a cute cabin to stay at for the night. Enjoy the view of Himalayas and visit the Barsu pond.
Day 2: Barsu – Dayara Bugyal (11,600 ft.)
Bugyal literally translates to “meadow” and spans across 28 sq kms. You will witness cattle grazing in these meadows, as well as a 360 degree view of the Himalayas. Reach Dayara Bugyal by afternoon. Spend rest of the day exploring the meadows.
Day 3: Dayar Bugyal – Dayara Top (12,300 ft.)
Today is just an easy 2 hour trek that will take you up to the top. If you’re visiting during winter, get ready to face knee-deep snow. Spend time at the top, enjoy the beauty and click photos, descend to camp by afternoon.
Day 4: Dayara Bugyal – Raithal (7400 ft.)
Today we descend to Raithal which will take 2-3 hours to complete. From raithal, head to Dehradun in car. This journey is about 4 hours.
